Job Role: Re-insurance Officer

Qualification: HND/BSc. Insurance or any relevant field

Age Range: 25 – 35 years

Minimum Requirements:

Minimum of 2-3 years post qualification experience. It is preferable that the ideal candidate possess experience in the Insurance Services Sector.

Job Objectives:

To spread the underwriting risks of the company within a turnaround time with a view to ensuring that the Company’s shareholders fund is not unduly exposed. To generate premium income for the company through the acceptance of facultative reinsurance risks from other underwriters.

Job Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Handling reinsurance correspondence.
  • Raising credits and debit notes on facultative reinsurance inward and outward.
  • Sending of renewal notice to reinsurers.
  • Preparation of claims paid treaty.
  • Preparation of outstanding claims report.
  • Maintaining a comprehensive reinsurance register.
  • Any other duty assigned by the Management.

Competency Requirements:

  • Legal and regulatory framework of Insurance business.
  • General Insurance principles and practice.
  • Underwriting management and claims processing.
  • Risks improvement and control.
  • It applications in Insurance business.
